I can relate, JM. My '78 308 radiator fans aren't working right now, and it overheats in traffic. It's driving me crazy because I just got it back on the road with a starter rebuild! A very experience Fcar fellow gave me some dire advice: Make sure it doesn't get too hot or you can damage the aluminum heads! Fuse block is probably not your issue as your car is newer and Ferrari actually used fuse blocks rated for electrical flow. I'm going to rebuild mine soon! (see this new thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/112/306945.html?1061848953 ) Thanks, Dave; I'm going to check the thermostatic switch this weekend. Could you please provide a little more detail, like how to get to it very specifically, and where to get a replacement? ([email protected]) |

Jonathan, I believe the fusebox issues you are mentioning, were largely eliminated from around 1986 on, when they were changed over to the blade type fuses. |

And if they don't start when you touch the wires together, check the fusebox. Be sure that the fuses are not blown and clean the contacts on the fuses, the fuse holders and the spade connectors. This is a common issue with these fuseboxes: flaky connections. I also had my fans not work once because of a bad connection of the spade connectors at the switch on the radiator. The thermostatic switch was working fine, but the connectors were a little dirty. Tighten the connectors a tad with a pair of needle nosed pliars.

There is a themo-switch on the lower right side of the radiator. Pull off the two wires and touch them together (ignition on) and the fans should start. If they do, then you need to either/or replace the switch (most likely) and/or bleed air out of the system (good idea anyway).
