Paul -- You need to close the (both) throttle plates a little on the carb with the high flowing barrel and then open the air bypass screw a little on the other barrel to bring its flow up to match.

Lee -- see: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/256120/1804.html
Even if you don't DIY, it's a great little tool to have as anyone can use it to make the measurements even if you don't want to try tweak things (e.g., like checking your Mechanics work after he/she tweaks them, or checking things to see if you might need a tweak).

thanks guys,

I got mine from superperformance in the UK...real good price....

I'm drawing aprox 4 kg/hr...I have one carb barrel that I can not get lower than 4.5
this is at 1100 rpms warm...the adjusting screw is fully seated...doesn't seem correct.

Exactly what tool do you guys/gals use to measure Kg/hr? Where do I get one?

Thanks!

Paul I set my 77 at 1100 at warm idle with an elect. ign system. Need the extra 100 rpm for the A/C compressor. Works great for me.

Greg -- With the R2 stuff working (i.e., 3 deg ATDC idle timing) I'd be ~4 Kg/hr; running on only R1 (i.e., 7 deg BTDC idle timing) more like 3.5 Kg/hr.

I run about 1000-1100rpm. Steve did you flow 3.5-4.0 Kg/hr at idle?

I'd usually target the high side, 1050-1100 RPM, when very fully warm (which it would be by the time you've mucked with everything ). Give the other values:

fully warm idle RPM = 1000 (per your post)
ignition advance at idle RPM = ? (deg)
Avg Synchrometer measurement per barrel = ? (Kg/hr)

on carb 308s...my mechanic had it set to 1500 rpms at idle...seems a bit high...lots of rumble and a few pops when stopped at a light...I set it 1000 rpms...a bit better...where is everyone else at?
