Well it could be anything really...I remember working on a car that has a similar rotor. I wish I could remember what car it was, but now that you mention a Japanese car..you might be right!! I'm trying to remember what cars I have worked on that have a bolt on rotor. I know some Hondas, the chyrsler 3.0l(way different though)and a couple of others. I'm going to work tomorrow and looking in all the catalogs and on the sheleves. There must be somthing that will work.

Guys, there has to be an existing rotor off some other car that fits and works. It's not a complex thing. Bore dia, rotor outside dia, and offset. That's the envelope. Someone come up with the answer please!!

David,
Count me in if you want to produce them. I'll gladly buy a few sets for future use.

I hear ya Don. Everytime I run into a simple part I need and found out "it cost WHAT????" I thought of doing just that, making a run and sell them to fellow F-guys. But when you sit down and pencil out the numbers, it is always cheaper to pay (even) a few hundred bucks and be done with it than to put in all the time, do the research, and "count on" others to eventually come through with sharing that cost to make all the effort worthwhile. JMHO. :-)

David et al...

I really don't know why these are so challengingly priced !! You wanna see the cost to us !!

These are not NOS stock but new stock, newly made parts.

I think other suppliers are a similar price, some a bit dearer, some a little cheaper.

About (5) years ago, I was prepared to build molds and re-manufacture both the distributor caps and rotors. I even researched it with a friend at Magneti Marelli who assured me they (MM) would have no problems with someone reproducing the parts as they had no intention to ever produce any more --- he even said that the original molds had been destroyed!!!

However, I got distracted with work, life, etc. and didn't get around to it. I was looking into it again about (2) years ago, but I heard that someone else had beat me to the caps. I'm not sure about the status of the rotors.

I have no idea what's going on with these rotors from Ferrari UK --- I assume they are from a stash of NOS someone recently discovered?

$190 per rotor is highway robbery in my view. If anyone is interested, let me know. I am still considering re-proing these rotors. The parts I could make would be far superior to the originals (better and modern plastic, as well as improving the tip design for longer life).

And, if I could sell (100) units per year, the price would only be around $50/ea!!!!! I am curious about the level of interest fellow chatters have about purchasing such repros --- so please voice your interest...

We gotta have an entrepreneur contract with someone to manufacture these. Money waiting to be made and customers waiting to buy......

How hard could it be? Are there patent issues that prevent knockoffs?

Is that $191.55 in US dollars?

This price is for a pair or each?

Hi Jeff

I've got one of these in my tool box, I can't even remember when I "accumulated" it, but it's brand new.

Never realised it was worth so much!! I've got tons of bit's like it, for testing purposes etc, must be worth millions!

How much are TR heater fan transistor's nowadays, I've got a few I've repaired....
