Mark, Are your test pipes sized for the carb cars? |

I got mine from Nick's Forza Ferrari. The build quality was awesome. There was a minor discrepancy between their construction and the orginal cats (mounting flanges), but I have advised the builder (Kermit) and he will make a slight change to accomidate this (he was not made aware). You should have no problems with them. The sound did improve, and was a bit louder and raspier, but just a little, not overly bearing. I would recommend purchasing directly from Kermit, and discuss your needs. I have given him the needed info. about the change needed to the mounting flanges. I did a dyno test and there did not appear to be a "huge increase in power"....and in fact, you may need to richen your jetting after installation. |

The information is flowing about carbed vs. FI cars,in terms of length of the test pipes or resonators. Dave Handa, where did your test pipes come from? I'm hoping to get some more info. on installation/build quality as well as test pipe vs. resonator sounds...Is there anybody out there? |

Muteki, I was NOT going to pop the Cats. I intend to use resonators preferably, or test pipes. Ultimately we're on the same quest & hopefully this thread will get lots of input as to the questions I posted initially...Tubi,Ansa,Stebro and any other options other 308 GTS/B owners have come up with...Thanks for your experienced input. |

I also have the US 78 308 GTS. I don't suggest you "pop" the cats. I did it to mine, everything else was stock. I got a huge increase in power, but the sound was much louder and it would backfire once in a while. It is not the sound you are looking for, trust me. I am looking into some test pipse or high flow cats. check out this link for some additional info: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/112/309239.html?1062350109 |

I'm looking to remove my newly rebuilt cats when I pull the air-injection system off...you know, the DOT preservation box in the basement. I have a stock, US, carbed '78 308GTS. I'm looking for some ideas here on a way to do this with the stock US headers and Ansa muff. I've heard that the Tubi can be a bit on the loud side...but I might keep this option open if the Tubi will bolt up to the stock headers. Norwood performance has stated that the Ansa Sport muffler, as available now, will not bolt up to US headers, only the Euro headers. Is this the same scenario with the Tubi? Since I do like the quiet sound of my stock Ansa, and for cost reasons at the moment, I'm leaning toward test pipes or resonator pipes. Anyone out there done this to the US Car? |
