The rev counter picks up its feed from on of the coils / power modules and feeds the rev counter head with a brown striped black wire (the colour of the wire may vary between single distributor cars against twin distributor cars) via a junction plug in the dash area and then staight onto the rear of the rev counter. It's worth checking these connections and also swappingbthe feed from one coil to the other - however from your description I would suspect that the fault lies in the guage itself. A new rev counter guage will cost $240, we have them in stock at Ferrari UK MW

Possibly, or maybe a loose connection of the tach wire on the ballast resistor (if your car still has them)... |

308 GT4 tach has developed a nervous twitch at 2000-3000 rpm. Above and below that steady. Bad instrument? |
