Steve, The wires pulled from the coils I've marked 1,2,3..8 sequentially. If I've interpreted correctly what you've said, the 1&2 wires can be on either spade and the 3&4 wires can be on either spade, as long as the colors are consistent with the color codes and wiring schematic. Same holds true for the front bank coil. I looked more closely at the wiring schematics and verified wire colors with wire color letters; "G", "V", and "GN". I've visually re-checked the numbering of my wires and compared to the orientation of the colors and schematic. Everything matches. I'll also assume after all of this that the "+" sign does not apply to a spade, but rather the positive side of the coil. Thank you immensely for your help! Every new project on this car is a learning experience...

Greg -- Check the schematic in your Owner's Manual -- the "1" and "15" terminals are labeled so you can match up the wire colors. And don't worry about the terminal orientation -- both terminals on the "1" side are connected together inside the coil as are both terminals on the "15" side. |

I am in the middle of replacing spark plug wires, plugs, distributor caps, rotors, coils, etc on my '84 Euro 308. I've got everything finished and back in except for the coils. Trouble is, while I marked the wires before I pulled them from the old coils, the positive / negative markings on each coil are not clear. To make things a little more confusing, Magenti Marelli rotated the configuration of the spades by 90CW or 90CCW, depending on how you want to look at it. Can someone who has done this before please provide some guidance as to which are the positive and negative for the old and new coils? You can also see that the right hand spades are not even marked...how do you know if those were rotated 90CW or 90CCW? Thanks everyone!!! Old Coil:
