I think the source for them is www.importeccatalog.com but best to check the archives. I am in the same situation, I have a 16yo 328 and have a hot start problem. My mechanic did a pressure test and suspects leaky injectors and wishes to test them all. I suggested replacing them all, since they are not all that expensive and are rather old now (I have the steel ones, and the new replacements from Bosch are now brass). My thought was why waste the labor to test them all, just replace them. But he makes the good arguement that we need to verify what the problem is regardless. He does like the idea of upgrading the injectors, but wants to make sure he has properly diagnosed my problem. |

At a price competitive with importtec ($21.15 each)? Just wondering (e.g., if your shop can help minimize the o-rings/seals hassle might be worth a higher price)... |

As far as I can tell, the Bosch part number is 0 437 502 047. Can someone verify this for me? If so, I may be able to buy locally through a autoshop friend of mine. Thank You in advance. |

STEVE: Thank You for the information. HENRYK: Thank You too! We have a diesel shop south of town, I'll check with them. About the cam timing, yes I've got the belts and tensioners all done. And after all the frustration with degreeing, wrong spec.s in my manual, and eliminating human error, they are where they should be. I used zero clearance and measured the opening and closing events after the indicator traveled the required 0.5mm. And it appears that my cams are within 1 or 2 degrees of U.S. specs. I DID NOT HAVE TO MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS TO THE DRIVING PINS. So this should show that unless you need reassurance about timing, I wouldn't do it again. If your motor was good before, it should be afterwards also. The cam and cap marks align almost perfectly, with one cam being just a bit off center of the cap notch. I appreciate everyone who advised me on and off this board, and it was a great learning experience. Next time will be much easier now that I know what to expect. I have even had offers to do other TRs when finished with mine, provided I have no problems when done. And I'm seriously considering it. But time will tell. |

Jeff: Talk to a diesel truck repair shop, and ask where they send the fuel distributor for re-build.......they will also test injectors. All diesel injectors are of the CIS type, as the TR. Have them check about 6 injectors.......if 4-5 are bad, then replace all. If one is bad, then have the other 6 tested, and just replace those few bad ones. I was told that if you remove one, for any reason, that the O-ring should be replaced.......remember this is 16 year old rubber!!!!! Are the belts done? If so, do the timing marks align on the cam......in other words, was it really necessary to degree the cams? |

My TR's fuel injectors look pretty grubby and crusty on the outside. Since I'm detaling my engine, I would like to either have them serviced or replace them. After reviewing other threads on this subject, it seems to me that the injectors are very durable and quite trouble free. If so, I would at least like to get mine tested and cleaned, but I have no idea where to send them. Also, if I remove them, will I have to replace all the little parts like O-rings and such? Or is this more trouble than it's worth? Lastly, I believe these are Bosch parts, does anyone have the Bosch part number and a good source for purchasing them? |
