Get out the 99 cent circuit tester (with the lightbulb in the handle) and see if you have power....check the bulb on a continuity tester and make sure it works. |

It is one side. I have replaced the bulb and it still is out. I didn't know if the 308 brake lights had a ground problem or something that was notorious? |

Is it both brake lights that this happens. If it's just one side, it may be a broken filament in the bulb. Replace the bulb. |

Clean all the contacts on the bulb and the socket. Make sure the tabs fit tight to the bulb ends....the bulb is usually fine, just dirty, loose contacts is the problem. |

On my 85 QV I have been having a problem keeping the top bulb in the brake light working. Is this a common problem? If anyone has run into this problem and has a tip it would be appreciated. Thanks |
