My fog light switch in the upper console stopped functioning last month. Took the switch out and found the problem. It was an easy fix and save a few hundred $$. Remove the switch with a small blade screwdriver, it pulls right out. If needed remove the blank in the middle and use your fingers to help push the switch out. Hold the switch in your hand with your thumb on the button and lightly pry the front cover off with your other fingers (the cover has a groove that white housing presses into). Once off, you will see a small copper triangle the size of an eraser head. This typicaly falls out of place. Place this copper piece back into the plunger hole in the housing concave side up (this is what the spring presses on and flexes to make contact momentarly). I found that a small screwdriver helps to get the piece to lay properly. Place the switch button back onto the unit ensuring that the LED sits under the white fog marking on the button. Squeeze the cover back on. Hook the harness back on and slip the unit back in. Done! Took 5 min. I am sure some of the other switches of that era are the same.
