I have run through 2 sets of DS2500s on the street and track, and on my 3rd. At the track, they seem to be rotor freindly, not to much dust, nice bite, take a lot of heat**. On the street, minimal dust, no squeel*, however, they have a minimal delay from 40dF weather to good pedal feel, but might not be streetable in places where weather hovers much lower for several months. I will be running these for a while. I like 'em. * Squeel, I end up going to the trace about once a month and wear through 20% of the pad. Under this senario, mine are not squeeking. However, I have had inklings of squeek (which went away after a trip to the track.) I had squeek from the factory pads also, and DS2500s are at least as squeek free as the factory pads. ** I have 2 brake fade events on fresh fluid wiht factory pads in texas summer heat going into turn 2 at TWS on the factory pads. I have not had such trouble with the DS2500s and they take this punishment quite well. The high bite makes modulation easier than factory pads. Anything that takes more heat than these pads will start boiling the fluid. 95 F355B Bridgstone S03s |

Tough call which I like better. I am still deciding. DS2500 - great feel when cold, not much dust, a little squeal, no track experience with it yet. Pagid RS19 - poor brake feel when cold, lots of dust even on the street, minimal squeal, held up great for several track days. Also the pad was 5 mm too thick and had to be shaved to fit in the caliper. Mechanic complained a lot about it ! Stock pad - turned to dust in one day at the track. Way too expensive. |

Steve, also try www.cobaltfriction.com. They sell all of the different Ferodo pads (and Hawk & Porterfield & Axxis, etc etc etc) at very reasonable prices. |

Doc, Thanks for the info. Which pads did you prefer for street use, Ferodo or Pagid? |

Try http://www.raceshopper.com/dealer_info.shtml for the DS2500. Just got mine on the car. A bit of squeel, but seem to work well Northstar Motorsports has Pagids which I used last time. |

I don't know what the factory pads are for this car, but I have been using Ferodo DS3000 pads on my Challenge car and they are excellent. They are also 1/2 the price of Ferrari replacement Challenge pads. I understand that Ferodo makes a DS2500 for street use, but I can't seem to find them anywhere in the USA, and need them quick. Anyone know a US source, or a better (non-Ferodo)pad for street use? |
