Well, I've got five hours now tracing this thing. I've removed EVERY single fuse except for fuse #1. I've bypassed the hazard light switch. Basically, I'm making a connection between the BLUE (A, or Azure) wire into fuse 1 (fuse 1 through 3 are jumpered), across the fuse, and into the yellow/yellow-stripe-black wire. The problem isn't the hazard lights, it's the turn signals! Symptoms: 1. Left turn signal OK. 2. Right turn signal dims lights, blows the fuse. Basically, I've got a short somwhere in the ignition power wire --> turn signal flasher --> turn signal stalk --> turn signal direction indicator at the speedometer --> front turn signal lights (one in the bumper, one on the right front of the car). Also, the #1 fuse blowing behavior happens even when I DISCONNECT the tri-connect white plastic male adaptor to the female tri-connect harness adaptor that runs three wires to the front turn signal assembly (one for the parking light, one for the directional indictor, and one ground to the metal-like assembly that holds these bulbs...).

Methinks something's gone wrong with the hazard switch, maybe if you've fooled around with that centre console... All of these switches are very delicate. |

I just replaced my 308 fusebox with one I fabricated myself according to Rob (Tazio's) excellent thread here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/112/306945.html?1061862441 and here: http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/112/307297.html?1063221726 Everything went well. EVERYTHING works well, except when I turn on my hazard lights, I ALWAYS blow the fuse in the fusebox #1 (white), position #6 fuse. (This is the fuse for the hazard lights.) I've gone through about 8 fuses while testing this. I've blown both 7.5A and 15A fuses (have not tried the 25A--didn't want to screw things up). The specs call for a 16A fuse (my new glass fuses come in 15A). I can't imagine that the hazard lights should be drawing more than 15A, so I don't think this is the probem (15A vs. 16A). I've tested while having disconntected all additional stuff I've added on (radio, radar detector) and the behavior is the same. I've pulled the center console and checked the switch, looks good, all wiring is clean. When I turn on the hazard lights, They go on ONCE, and then the fuse blows. With fresh fuses, I can't get anything else to blow as long as I don't engage the hazard lights. I can turn on the parking lights (which get illuminated by the hazard lights), headlamps, interior light, etc.; everything is good. I do have the "Parking lights on w/ headlamps lowered" mod on the car. The hazard lights worked before I changed out the fusebox. I've confirmed all the fuseblock jumpers are correct, and triplechecked that all wiring connections at the fusebox are restored to the correct (factory) location. I've got lots of time. How do I trace this short? It *is* possible to trace, right? Given a voltmeter and lots of time? Any direction would be appreciated.
