No experience on the Ferrari, but I put DMS 40mm coil-overs on the Celica AllTrac, and the change was amazing. I think DMS has a kit for the 308 as well. However; it took more than four months to get the coil-overs and camber plates from a NJ race shop, who ordered the coil-overs from DMS in Australia. (They tell me that DMS only builds when they have enough orders. Then the race shop had to take measurements of the coil-overs before ordering the Cusco camber plates from Japan.) The difference on the Ferrari would probably not be so pronounced, as the RWD Ferrari doesn't have the stock oversteer associated with AWD cars, and the Ferrari suspension already lets you adjust your handling a bit. You might want to investigate how much adjustment you have. Changing your ride height will change your camber and steering axis inclination, and you may need to compensate, beyond the built-in adjust limits. (Camber plates adjust for McPherson strut suspensions. For an unequal-A, something else may be required.) Another thing you might want to look for in coil-overs: Some have the impact/rebound adjustment controls on the bottom, some have it on the top, and some have it on the sides. This also depends on how they mount in the car. The ones that adjust from the bottom require you to get under the car to adjust them. The ones that adjust from the top can be adjusted from above -- if you can get to the tops. But you might want to consider where the adjustments are going to wind up in the car before you choose a coil-over kit. |

There have been several threads, a search on lowering or shocks should turn something up. I have a set of ohlins coil overs on my car and would honestly never go back to stock. The differance is amazing...if you drive the car hard, if you don't it's a big waste of money. Basically you can have the car perform/ride any any you like. I actually have a little less damping at low velocity , but more at high velocities. I like to autocross, so I went with pretty heavy springs (450f, 400r - most people perfer a little less), but really the ride quality is about like it was. I also sprung for the adjustable rebound so it's easy to stiffen it up for track/autocross use. Rob Schermerhorn can help you with custon bilstiens I think, penske and my favorite ohlins are also worth looking at, they're all good. |

Has or does anybody have the fully adjustable coil over suspention kit installed on a 308? I'm thinking of upgrading to this set up for my car and I'm looking for opinions on the ride quility and handeling improvements with this system. Is there a big improvement? Does the ride of the car go for a dump? Basicly is it worth it to do it. |
