Philip They charge $175 but have a five week turn around time. For an additional hundred, they have faster service (nice marketing touch?) and do it in less than a week. |

I considered buying from Rutlands, but they (and the dealership) only sell with the booster assembly, even though there's almost NEVER anything wrong with the booster. Extra money for something you don't need. That's why I bought the brake cylinder only from Superformance. |

My master cylinder probably went bad when I used the 'pedal-pump' method to bleed my brakes. The brake pedal was going way past its normal range of travel, scuffing the seals past where they normally go, I imagine. |

Mike this summer I watched 3 people and myself change brake masters. Remember these things are 20-30 years old...when it comes to brakes it's better safe than sorry. |

Knock on wood, I don't seem to have problems with mine. Are these components that usually need replacing in our cars? I don't see this come up to regularly, even for older 308s...

Philip I bought a new master and booster for about $900 Canadian. I believe that Trutlands has them in stock. |

If you find damage to the bore and the kit doesn't cure your problem, remember Stainless Steel Brakes Corp. They did a great job on my master five years ago and its been rock solid through street driving, storage and track use. |
