What is the procedure to replace the engine bonnet cable. There is a little bit in the archives but it is unclear. Can you just withdraw the cable form the door jam and thread a new one in. Is the cable housing fixed in place inside the body work? Thanks |

Don't wait for it to snap, first of all check to see if it is the catches that may need cleaning and lubricating, are the catches releasing together? Then remove the cable and see if its frayed or just requires lubrication. Also make sure that the emergency cable is operating correctly - the emergency pull is to be found under the small pocket to the right of the bonnet opening lever, just by your left knee. MW |

My 85 QV cable for the engine bonnet is getting extremely difficult to pull open. I fear due to the force to open that I am on the verge of it snapping. Any advice? Thanks |
