Appreciate the comments guys. Dave, I looked a long time for my 308 - I'm hoping that education helps on the 348. Still trying to decide between the TS and the Spider Byron, agreed that there is more to the SS than the rear lights - certainly not what will determine which car I buy! I've come across very few SS cars, but I've only been looking a relatively short time. |

I viewed no fewer than 25 standard 348 cars before I found the one I was happy to purchase, so I'm not so sure finding a 'specific model of 348' that fits all other buyers criteria may not be quite that simple an option. Personally I prefer the round light 355 rear (I couldn't stretch to a 355 when I bought my 348). Can't see that the SS 348 rear looks much better that the grilled standard version, each to his own. |

Actually, you can't just pull off the grill. The lights of the 348 SS are more flush, while the regular 348 lights are inset. Phil, there are a few SS's out there that can be purchased at a fair price - what I'm getting at is that the lights aren't the only difference, so you might be better off paying the premium and getting the real thing!

You can just pull off the grill..... I bet that whole assembly would set you back a grand or more at least...! |

I'm looking into purchasing a 348 and definitely prefer the rear lights and panel of the 348 Speciale rather than the standard 348. I've come across a few standard 348 converted to the Speciale style. Anyone know how available this conversion is? How much it would cost? Thanks in advance, phil |
