You cant replace syncros with the gearbox in the car but you can leave the engine mounted to the box once its out. |

Mike, For all practical puposes, it's best to remove the drivetrain as an asembly to do major work on the gearbox...as gear/shaft re-assembly is much, much easier when the gearbox is in the vertical position. David |

Let's say I've got a bad 3rd syncro, and wanted to replace that one and maybe a few others. Do I have to pull the engine to remove / work on / replace the gearbox in a 308? 1978 308 GTS, Carbed, US Spec.
