You might find the rest of us somewhat more responsive if you told us what model you have!!!! |

I think you should jack the car up take off the rear wheel and inner fender and look, there are several places it could be leaking from and to me sounds like a loose hose clamp or rotted hose. Pleas do not taste the fluids, I was told recently while doing coolant searches that 3 teaspoons of ethelene glycol will kill you and that 1 will destroy your live by crystalizing in it.. Rob |

Steve the water pump is at the front of the engine near the cambelts, also there are three hoses that connect nr the pump, two are approx 2" diameter going into metal pipes that go across the firewall at the front of the engine bay, there is also a smaller hose that feeds the Heater, I think this also goes into one of the horizontal metal tubes Any one of these could be causing your problem and I suspect are quite difficult to get to in a Mondial |

Hi I forgot to say. There is much more water when the car is running. It does not leak straight away. When I turn it off the water leak slows right down Thanks guys for all your help Steve |

Hi The water is leak trough the bottom panel under the are that protects the cambelt. The leak is coming from the Cambelt side (back) of the engine. Can I do all these pipe checks you guys recomend without actually having a ramp to put the car on? can it be the water pump or is this in a different place Cheers Steve |

There are a couple of short hose joints in front of the front heat shield & almost in the side-sside center of the car. These joints are where the ~1.5" dia AL pipes from the engine join the similarly sized pipes that run fwd to the radiator. Check the host clamps there to see if one has come loose. |

Steve that is the coolant tank, if you have coolant around the middle of the engine it could be a leak from the crossover pipe (it's under the plenums, the big silver things on top of the engine!) or also from there is a bleed pipe, this runs from the Expansion tank to the top of the engine block. I think it was JRV who posted some pics of how the connector rusts/ degrades and eventually fails |

Tom Is the expansion tank the tank that the water/coolant goes into. if it is, it is on the Right hand side, black in colour, viewed from rear of car (UK car) thanks Steve |

Goes great with vodka. First check the coolent level in the tank, then make sure the cap is on right. If it still leaks, do a pressure check to see if the system holds pressure. If it does the cap is bad, if not, you will probably see some leaking somewhere. |

well the expansion tank should be on the left as well as the slave - sounds like it could be the water pump though not sure what the hissing is from, its possible the hissing is from the expansion tank as maybe air is getting in there? never tasted coolant so don't know |

Hi Tom The hissing seems to be coming from the right hand side of the engine if viewed from the rear. The dumping seems in the middle of the engine bay, difficult to say though. It definately has a bitter/sweet taste to it. Is this coolant? I will take closer look to see where it is coming from Cheers Steve |

the overflow drain on the coolant expansion tank dumps under the engine - possible? I would think you could tell coolant just by looking at it. If it was a head gasket issue you might see coolant in your oil or oil in your coolant. which side of the engine is it appearing - that way we can eliminate water pump or slave |

Hello I have noticed I am loosing some fluid from under my engine bay. I tasted this fluid and my guess is that is in coolant from the engine (Bitter taste). I also hear a quiet hissing sound when the engine is turned off from warm from the engine bay. Could it be a head gasket problem or could a pipe be loose somewhere. Please help thanks Steve |
