Jeff,

When I replaced mine I tightened the nut with the whole assembly on a bench using an air impact wrench. i didn't have to keep the clutch from spinning, just put the tool on and tighten as much as you can. I had the wrench set to 250ft/lbs.

Vincent.

Airtool!!!!!!

If you are a knuklehead you can use a hammer and a chisel. I have seen many bunged up nuts from doing it this way.

I replaced the clutch in my 348 for a carbon type from Norwoods, (trying to get the HP to the pavement).
I know this topic has been discussed MANY times, (and I did save the .url file), but I have not seen the answer to this question:
How do you tighten the ring nut socket to the specified torque value, (196 Nm I believe)?
Whenever I try to do this it is impossible for me to hold the pumpkin in place. So, I installed the clutch, now it is impossible to twist the ring nut while inplace in the transmission because it just causes the engine to turn.
Can someone break the code for me?
Thanks,
Jeff
