When mine needed recharged my mechanic told me to stay with the original freon. Yes it is more expensive, but he claims the 134 causes the system to run at a high pressure and causes premature failure. He also claimed that the system will get colder under the original R12 that it was designed to run with vs. 134. |

With one of them (?Ester i think?) you must replace all the o-ring seals in the connectors with a compatible o-ring. I believe the other is nitrile o-ring friendly. Search the archives for my long thread on R134A conversion. There's a link to an A/C chat. |

I am draining out the Oil from my 308 Aspera Compressor, and want to replace it with a R134A compatable oil,anyone have any idea of which is better? Thanks for your Input. Mark |
