Frank, thanks, I know that. That's one of the reasons I use less coolant, since water is better at heat transfer. WW improves it further. Greg: The Castrol LMA is excellent also, same specs as the Valvoline SynPower, and that's what I was using in the past but my local store didn't have it last time I was there buying brake fluid.

Mike, FYI water cools better than coolant. So, the less coolant you use, the less likely you will need the WaterWetter. |

I use 5-year Prestone Antifreeze/coolant in a 33% (rather than 50/50) ratio. In the 308QV, that means 2 gallons of antifreeze, and 4 gallons of distilled water. I also put in one and a half bottles of Redline Water-Wetter. If I wasn't using WW, I'd probably just use the standard 50/50 ratio. For brake fluid, I use Valvoline SynPower. It's the highest temp fluid you'll find at regular auto parts stores like Autozone or Advance Auto.

I will be flushing the brake fluid and engine coolant later this month and would like to know what the latest and greatest fluids are. What are other 308 owners using? Thanks. Ken P.S. I drive the car hard, but do little to no track driving. |
