Guys,

I got my spray can at the weekend and sprayed my door handles again. They look like new now after spraying them. The plasti dip in the spray can is great. Thanks for the info....

Robert and others on this thread,
Thanks for the tip. Ya! I replaced my vents, but cleaned every thing else. Looks good, but what a pain, as ya'all know. I'll give the plastic dip stuff a try. Thanks.

Wow! What a lot of positive responses.

I'm glad I could help just a little, being new and all.

That plasti-dip is just what I have been looking for--what to pain some telescope poles with that have a tactile touch and dampen vibration. See, you just never know what clever guys exist on FerrariChat!

Gordo,

You want the spray its best. The Dip I think you have to actually dip the handle in it. A bit messy... I have ordered the spray.

John,
That's pretty resourceful... I've scraped my clean and left it unpainted... but will be swapping out many parts with CF parts... this plastic spray is new to me and looks like a good alternative! I wonder how that will last in the heat!

Hey - I know this has been discussed over and over. I just wanted to share my solution. I had melting parts all over the interior of my 348. The carbon replacement parts weren't an option, they don't make them for everywhere. I didn't want to buy Ferrari parts that would just melt again. I stripped the offending pieces with a scraper, acetone & goof-off. For the center console and dash vents I used a black spray paint, which is fine. But, for the door handles, I wanted a better tactile feel. Here's what I found at Home Depot, it is GREAT! It feels thick and rubbery, not thin and holow like the painted parts. I used it on the handles, steering column and window triangles. If anyone isn't happy with the results from painting, I would recomend this.

Hope this helps someone - John
