OK, so aluminum is lighter... So that makes sense to use aluminum for the pistons... more RPM, yummy:-) I had to work with the periodic table in bio today... yuck.

Let's get all mad-scientist-like with some T & A...

Titanium
Symbol: Ti
Atomic Number: 22
Atomic Weight: 47.867
Melting Point: 1941 K (3034.4F)
Boiling Point: 3560 K (5948.6F)
Density: 4.5 grams per cubic centimeter
Phase at Room Temperature: Solid

Trivia - titanium is the only element that will burn in an atmosphere of pure nitrogen.

Aluminum
Symbol: Al
Atomic Number: 13
Atomic Weight: 26.981538
Melting Point: 933.32 K (1220.58F)
Boiling Point: 2792 K (4566.2F)
Density: 2.70 grams per cubic centimeter
Phase at Room Temperature: Solid

Trivia: Methods developed in the 1880's are still the processes used to extract aluminum from Bauxite.
