Well, I did NOT get it out yet. There is some unseen force still holding it in. I am going to try again tonight. The seat belts I have are broken, and the new ones I have are slightly different (Japanese GT4) Will keep you guys posted. |

Jay If you are successful with the seat removal, please tell me. I have been trying but cannot remove the rear seat with just the 2 side bolts removed. It is very tight, and I cannot lift it out. THere must be something else attaching the seat to the frame on my car. |

Jay Morris, are you changing out your two front seat belts and getting others? If so, are you interested in selling your two old seat belts, both the male and female parts? I would be interested in buying them if they work OK. TIA. |

Another thing to look at while you are in there is inside of the fender. Pop off the small panel under the side window for access. You can then evaluate the condition of the bodywork under that fancy paint job, I found evidence of accident damage from long ago. Also check for rust up under the quarter window. My car had a sunroof drain that ran down the "B" pillar then dumped into the enclosed area under the quarter window!

Jay, while you are there you might want to run an extra wire from the fuse box to the engine compartment and leave it disconnected. It will save you alot in the future if you need a new wire. |

Jay, the seat is easy to remove. There is a bolt, accessed in the side pocket, that screws into the side of the seat on each side (see hole in seat edge in pic). Once the bolts are removed lift the seat up to disengage a lip under the rear window and the seat will come out. You may have to remove the rear headrests to gain enough clearance for the seat to clear the lip. After the seat is removed you will have to drill out some pop rivets that hold on the side pocket in order to expose the seatbelt retracter.
