Currently I'm using Bosch WR6DP and they are working fine so far after about 3,000 miles on them. I also like the NGKs. Have not liked Champions on other cars and so wouldn't even try them on the Ferrari.

YMMV

John.

I'm happy that you're happy with Champions!!

However, my frustration at finding up to 1 in 10 new ones being faulty, and then later in life to see the familiar brown stains up the white ceramic from wasted combustion, will annoy me for years, and have caused much wasted, non chargeable time.

Champion are well and truly off my shopping list. My bad champion history is from over 10 years ago now, but NGK have been consistently good.

Also, the tow plane at my gliding club no longer uses champion...due to an "incident" a few years back......

The 7 is a higher heat range...preferred for a car that is run in the city a lot and prone to fouling plugs. Usually not a concern with a fuel injected car; meaning the stock heat range should be fine. If you have a problem, it may be with another ignition or fuel issue...plug gap, wires, caps, extenders, fuel filter, etc.

Currently I am running a set of NGK BP8EVX and have a slight hesitation on pulling away. Ignition leads are newish and once underway all is ok. what is the differance between these and NGK BP7EVX ?

Phil
My experience with Champions is the total opposite to yours - every time I have used anything but (Bosch, NGK) I have had grief!

What are the best plugs for a 400i. I am running a lead additive/octane booster in the petrol giving around 100 octane, with ignition advanced 2 degrees.
