Plip, I think Henry's suggestion is a good one. You can spend serious money doing upgrades which you probably could not get back if or when you sell it. For probably similar money you can upgrade to a 512TR, get a large performance boost along with much better brakes, seats and other updated systems. Then you can recover some or all of that differential when you are ready for your next one. |

I have thought of the same thing with my 88 TR. The only options are those listed: Either build up the motor internals, or convert to a pulsed injection system. Both are very expensive, and if the car runs fine, then they are really a waste of money. My other, and only feasable option, would be to sell the TR and buy a 512TR. I feel that this route would be the most efficient. |

I changed my BB512 from carburettor to fuel injection. I used the carburettor throttle bodies and installed injectors in the inlet manifold just below it. I learnt a lot from it and must reiterate what Phil Hughes said...stick with what you've got. Setting the new system up DID send me grey and senile. I know that doesn't help you with your question about getting more horsepower, but I hope it extinguishes your desire to change the injection system! |

K/KE Jetronic will deliver all the power you need, if you develop the engine a little. I built a Porsche Turbo engine years ago, with all the good Ruf gear of the time and it retained the K jetronic virtually std while delivering around 600BHP. It may not be the most fuel/emmission efficient set up, but power wise there are no problems. Fit hi-comp pistons, better camshafts, lighten a few spinning bit's and pieces, throw a full tubi into the recipe, an air filter etc and away you go....you can do all this and retain the "std" look. Of course, you can go to a multi throttle set up, but you'll go grey and senile by the time you've got it user friendly enough to enjoy! |

Hi everybody, it is at all possible to upgrade the ke-jetronic on the Trossa, or the only way to get a bit more HP without major engine works is to replace it with a motronic and, evetually having it re-mapped?? Has anyone does anything of the kind ?? Many tks for any help on this matter. Kindest rgds Plip |
