Mick, disconnect the choke at the engine very simple one screw that way you never have to worry about it again. BTW you only have one distributor right? Rob |

I would venture to say your car is just plain old flooded. The only blessing of having 2 seperate ignitions is that the car will run with bad points, coil, cap, whatever. The only way you could have a problem in both ignitions would be a wiring problem between the fusebox and coils. I'm guessing you have NGK B6es plugs, which will not usually clean themselves if you crank a lot with the "choke" on. Put in a fresh set of B5es, and I bet it will start right up. Jay

Start from scratch: 1. Check to see if you have spark at all the cylinders (at least number 1 and 5) if not, find the problem in the ignition and try again. Your problem maybe: a. points, closed gap b. condensor, busted c. coils, fried d. no voltage at the coil e. rotor(s) busted f. distributor caps busted. If that does not work, 2. check your compression in all cylinders. If they are way too low, then it is bad news. |

I have a 308GT4 Dino that suddenly won't start. I used it about 1 week ago and didn't have any problems. I come to start it this weekend and the fuel pump runs, the engine turns but nothing else happens. I've only have a car a couple of months so I'm new to this game. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I can smell petrol so I'm pretty convinced petrol is getting through. I gave it an hour and tried it again just in case I flooded it but no joy. The same happened again. Fuel pump starts and the engine turns but nothing else. I have an adventurous 5 year old and he was sitting in the driving seat while I ws checking the tyres at the end of my last trip. I noticed this week that the choke level was at the Blue Dot end, which I believe to be as on. Would this cause my problem? I've just ordered a manual to help.
