Magnus It has to be ignition related. If you just had a major service why don't you bring the car back. It maybe related to what was done. If not they maybe able to point in a direction. In any case let us know the outcome. |

Hi, Magnus: According to the Workshop Manual, "The ECU of bank of cylinders 5-8 generates the control signal for the operation of the cars rev counter." Presumably the Engine Revs Sensor on the nose of the crank sends a signal which is processed by the ECU and sent to the tachometer. There may (?) be a bad connection in the harness to the revs sensor. Not an easy one to reach. |

I had a major service done a couple of months ago (engine out), and the problem came after that. Ignition wires looks good and spark plugs is new, all connections in enging comparment are checked and cleaned with electrical contact cleaner. Does anyone know where the signal to the tach comes from? |

Possiable igintion break down. I would start with just the basics, Check igintion wires for burn through and have a look at the condition of the spark plugs. You could be having a problem with one of the ignition modules on one side or the other. But before going to that, make sure all engine grounds and connections are good and tight and clean HTH |

I have a problem with my 348 TS -92. It runs great but it have happend a couple of times lately that the tach suddenly starts to be very unstable when reving over 2500 to 3000 RPM and the engine starts to run bad (over 3000RPM). It can go on for 5 to 20 minutes but after a while it runs as normal again(and the tach is stable). It seems to be a electrical problem but I don't have a clue where to start looking. Any suggestions? |
