Have you pulled the sensors off yet? I'll take a really long shot and guess that the connector is a pretty universal one. For example I use Bosch O2 sensors on my Camaro, and the rear (post cat) sensor has a 4-pin square weatherpak connector on it. If this sounds like what's on the 360, take a look here - http://www.tbyrnemotorsports.com/lt1catalog.html and scroll about halfway down the exhaust page for a good pic of the O2 simulator. Hopefully that's a fit... Dave |

Hans, et al, Thanx for being kind. You learn something new every day! I havent' worked on anything newer than a '93 RX7 so haven't encountered one of these dual O2 sensor systems before. From the description I do understand the problem tho. ASIDE COMMENT: I think that the mid-late 1980s BOSCH design CIS & EGI systems are great from the do-it yourselfer's standpoint. They work extremely well & are simple enough so you can understand, diagnose, & coerce them into accomodating substantial performance mods. The newer ones do their job extremely well, but are a real challenge to circumvent or coerce into accepting performance mods. Hence things like the simulator being discussed. |

Yes, I am looking for the simulators to trick the ECM just like Hansen was saying. Thanks, Mike |

Actually, Verell, I *think* that the O2 sensors won't work as designed w/o the converter for 2 reasons: 1) The 'post' cat sensor will be detecting a polluted exhaust, 2) The 'pre' cat sensor needs some back pressure to get it up to operating temp. This will permanently put the car in open loop, and trigger a 'Check Engine' light. Someone makes a gizmo to substitute in place of the sensor. As I recall, it's not trivial, as the ECM is expecting an oscillating signal, not a simply static one. |

I think you mean O2 Sensors. You can either transfer the ones from your old system, or buy them at almost any auto parts store. |

Where can I purchase O2 simulators for a '01 US 360? Planning to install test pipes and don't want the Check engine light to flash. Any of the sponsors on this board carry them? Thanks, Mike |
