I broke my outside glass and assembled it without it and the images are MUCH clearer w/o it...I'm leaving it off.

Is there an easy way to remove a 328 mirror without breaking the glass? The internal springs are gone on mine, so it flops from "day" to "night" (I'm not sure it's the original mirror).

My wife would like to know what turn signals are.

Are they the handle that makes a ticking sound when you're carrying the chinese takeaway home??

Tell your wife it is alot like those mirrors on the doors and you use it as often as you use the turn signals...

Atlantaman,

I've seen larger clip on mirrors that you can put over your existing mirrow. Check out your local pepboys or other autoparts store.

Yes I let a friend sit in the car a day before a FCA trip and he broke off my mirror and broke the front glass. BTW the pad that holds the 308 series mirrors on is the exact same as for the 914 and some other porsches $2 each as opposd to????

This may be old school for some of you guys, but I thought I would pass it on for rookies like me.

I recently purchased an 85 QV and the interior rearview mirror was dirty/cloudy and didn't clean up when I attempted to clean the mirror.

I discovered you can gently pull the black trim off the front of it to reveal the clear glass and the mirror. Be careful when separating because you can break the clear glass. I cleaned with windex and newspaper and put back together and it looks like a new mirror. I was about to buy a new one because I was getting tired of trying to look through it.

I guess after time dust and dirt accumulate between the glass and mirror and the only way to restore it to a like new condition is to separate and clean them.
