Disconnected from the pipes.

The only thing that should be screwed into your pipes are the O2 sensors (it's the larger one).

I zip-tied both my thermocouples to part of the frame.

Disconnected at the plug, or at the pipes?

James, I was told that the thermocouples could be left off, and no longer served any purpose, since overheating was no longer a factor. I just left mine disconnected.
As opposed to the infamous "ck engine" light, I think that the "slow down" light indicates an overheating thermocouple? Maybe your bent one is shorted somehow????

James,
I think without cats you don't need the thermocouple.....you still need the O2 sensors and they should be put on the straight pipes, just like they were put on the cats before.........usually you don't get a slowdown light, but if you did get one, it's probably nothing to be concerned about......I'm sure you'll get some good answers soon.

Questions...
1) withut the cats, why do i need thermalcouple? (other than the convience of the connection to the pipes).
2) slow down 5/8 came on (steady)during second test drive w/no loss of power. Eh??

3) can themalcouples become damaged? one was pretty bent inside of cat and had to be "persuaded" to be removed.

4) should i switch sensors to other bank to see what changes? 02 and heat?
