If you have brake fluid your leak is the slave...check your resevoir to see if its down. If it's gearbox oil...your leak is alos from an 'O' ring that is on the gearbox shaft next to the throw out bearing. For either the fix is reletively easy.

There are 2 'O' rings that need to be replacedfor the slave. They run about $1. The 'O' ring on the shaft is also about $1.

Either job can be done in an afternoon.

Douglas,

Just before I purchased my 348 spider it had the same problem. The slave cylinder seals where leaking, lost the pedal... A new cylinder is needed.

Doug,

Just curious, why the slave cylinder?

Could it be that fluid is bypassing the seals on the throwout bearing? Does the pedal come back up after it goes to the floor? The TO bearing is like a hydraulic piston actuated by the clutch pedal, if it's seal is bad you may see the same kind of lead.

I have the parts manual if you email me your adress or fax number I can send the view to you.

Vincent.

My clutch problem seems to be the slave cylinder. I need an exploded view & a new slave cylinder or rebuild kit. Anyone have one for sale? Contact me please. My car is a 92 348TS. Thank you

Doug,

Where is the fluid leaking from? Is it coming out of the ventilated cover under the clutch housing?

Vincent.

Yes rebuild kits are available but only if the slave is the cast piece and not the aluminum one. The kit is less then 100 bucks.

Clutch felt "Odd" last week. Fluid on garage floor Thursday. Pedal goes to the floor today. Any suggestions other than 5 gals. of gas & some matches ? Are rebuild kits avail. for master cyls?
