(Sent in response to a private message in case you're wondering why I'd post again) You can download a copy of the US GTBi/GTSi OM (216/81) from www.owners.ferrari.com (it's the one labeled "1981 308GTSi US version" or something like that) You can also get to the FerrariUK parts site thru the F Owner's site -- they've got the SPC illustrations on-line. The Aux Air Valve on your K-Jet "i" is labeled item #30 in this picture:

Charles -- It's an airflow problem (as in too much intake airflow). Two relatively simple thing to start with: 1. Make sure nothing is hanging-up the accelerator cable/linkage (either in the footbox, like a carpet, or at the engine side of things). You should be able to verify that the throttle shaft assy is against its physical stop at idle, and 2. If #1 seems OK, you can try manually blocking the air line going to, thru, and from the auxillary air valve (which would simulate a properly closed, warm auxillary air valve). Good luck... |

my 308 won't idle below 3500 rpm. Would this be a vacuum problem? Any help appreciated |
