There's a special on-line rate for FChat members, See Rob's monthly status report for the special URLL. Std rate is $40/6mo, Believe FC rate is $40/9mo.

That's good info Verell - Can you pull the same info for a 1987 328 GTS? Does it cost anything to subscribe to the market letter? |

Rik, The Ferrari Market Letter's asking price index is a good starting point. Figure maybe actual sale price is about 10% less than asking. Here's the most recent info for the carb'd 308s:
| Model | Current | 6 Mo. Ago | %change | 1-Yr. Ago | %change | 2-Yr. Ago | %change | | 308 GTB Fiberglass | 37537 | 36760 | 2.11% | 36457 | 2.96% | 39142 | -4.10% | 308 GTB | 29070 | 28460 | 2.14% | 30316 | -4.11% | 29476 | -1.38% | 308 GTS | 29050 | 29625 | -1.94% | 31744 | -8.49% | 33094 | -12.22% | Since FML only tends to have the better cars advertised in it, I'd say that $28K - $31K is a reasonable ballpark for a near concours condition carb'd 308. At least here in the US.

Wow, I'm bummed just looking at the pic! I see nice 308's go in the mid 30K in the US. |

Earlier this year I had a bit of a run with a bus and my '78 308 GTS, due to the bus drivers enthusiasm with a 90 degree blind bend. The car was in A1 condition throughout, getting on towards concours standard in places with a fantastically reliable engine. I was, to put it mildly, quite upset. I was wondering what anyone reading this would think was a fair price for a 308 in this condition in the UK, as the insurance company and I have slightly differing views on this. I also attatch a photo taken after the event for sympathy! |
