One pound can of Cop-a-slip lasted 10 years in a race shop, and we used it all the time. |

Hans, 30 years anti-seize was exactly that, powdered lead in a mineral oil suspension. Tom, I've still got about 1/2 of the can I bought back in '69 when my college room mate & I rebuilt the engine of my 1st sports car - A '58 Jag. XK150 fixed head coupe! I kind of use the old can of 'good stuff' only on high heat or high pressure applications. I have a tube of Permatex silver antiseize that I use for routine stuff. BTW, I've seen some copper anti-sieze on a fet things like the threads for my lift's rubber pads. Should also be good for high-heat applications but haven't the foggiest where to get some.

Tom, After many many years, I'm comming to the end of my first can of anti-sieze compound. Although I use it in a lot of places, one has to understand that that it can't be used everywhere. Readers should also understand that it will change the friction of a fastener so that if one is not careful, one could over torque this fastener. Although messy, I've never had a fastener freeze when using it. |

I lost my original can. What is this stuff? My old can appeared to be powdered lead mixed with oil. The fact that the can was heavier than hell tended to confirm this. My newer can contains some black gunk, and is not as heavy. |

Has anyone ever actually used up an entire can of antiseize ? I swear i'm working out of my original can from 30 years ago and it's still half full . Just curious. Tom |
