Dr.Tommy--thanks for the info--I just ordered 2 6.5" fans to mount on my front oil coolers. PS--are you coming to Savannah for the track meet? Charles [email protected] |

I've got twin Haydens installed now on my radiator, which was taken out to be "bored out" (or whatever they do to clean the core) this week. I like the idea of the oil cooler fan on a switch... nice.

Tommy, looks great. What size Hayden (if that's what that is) did you put on as a puller? |

I have been there many many times. I used to split my lunches between them and TJ's BBQ over on 5th until they burned down this past summer. |

Great mod - very clever and looks well done. I had the same problem with extended high speed cruising in Germany ( > 120) - water temp ok but oil temp high - so I'm interested to see if this works. Let us know! rt missing Carlisle's BBQ on 6th Ave South!! |

The last picture is to give some idea of the amount of air this fan is pulling. This should really make a big difference in the high temps I have been seeing.

I have just finished installing my oil cooler fan. As many of you know I am a track junkie and have always been plagued by super high oil temps when I am running her hard out there (water temp stays normal). It has never been a problem around town, just when I am bouncing the needle off the redline for 15 to 20 minutes at a time. Anyway here is my idea in action. For under $100 I have a great looking modification. My favorite part: I used the stock rear defog switch for the fan on and off switch (I NEVER used the rear defog anyway). The switch fires a relay the I mounted next to the other relays. Nice and stock looking there too. finally I added a few extra fuse holders to my earlier fuse box mod and ran the necessary wires thru them. This weekend I will be out with the Porsche Club at the Barber's Motorsport Track here in town for my last big track run of the season. I'll let everybody know how it does out there.
