The upper A-arm where the shock intersects it is would best be described as a piece of angle iron (old shop term). in one side of the angle iron you have to cut a semi circle of metal out. The piece would be about a 3/4 of an inch long and about 3/16 deep at the center of the semicircle. I used a small die grinder, I must add i like what CTK did in his post. The upper a-arm in my opinion seems to be suitible for a SUV ......overengineered to say the least. Hope that helps. Paul Thanks Steve for the compliment. |

I installed the shocks as well (300 lbs springs) (nick and tristam) and what a difference, allowed me to lower the car about an 1.5 inches. I run 18" wheels and the car is great on the track. I have no concern about the mod to upper A-arm.

I would love to see the instructions, as I have a set of QA1 shocks to install. |

Scott, I have the kit from Tristram, bought from Nick. Tristram's and nick's support was good when I had follow up queries. To install the front shocks, I had to 'shave' part of the suspension a-arm to clear the shock for it's up and down movement. For my own peace of mind, I then welded a small piece of steel rod to reinforce the area. The kit itself is fabulous and worth the money. Mine is a full Koenig 308 and I drive it regularly past 130mph. It's ride is actually better than the original Koenig/Koni setup. Just make sure you get the proper spring coil weight range to suit your car. I would recommend the setup. |

Hi Scott, Can you expand a bit on which componets were included in the kit... Or post the instructions to see a clearer indication as to "Shaving" |

I purchased a comlpete suspension upgrade kit from QA1 Motorsports. When my normal Ferrari mechanic tried to install the kit, he was concerned that the shocks were not the right size, and also did not feel comfortable with "shaving" as the instructions indicated. He aborted the install. Does anyone have personal experience with this kit? The owner of QA1, Tristram Buckley, assures me this kit has been installed on numerous 308's. I appreciate any response.
