BUMMER AL,
I guess I was just lucky to get some 390s before they stopped importing them.
Next time I'll try to find out if they're still available in the UK.

Heck, It'd be worth one of the mid-winter $199 super-savers to go over & ship a pair back! Get to see Jeff,Mark, et al @ Marinello Concessionaires to boot!

If they aren't being made, then I guess I'll have to save my pennies for a set of 16" wheels(ouch).

Excuse the alternate thread fellas.

Verell,
Had to buy Michelin's as Cooper no longer imports Avons. I'll be biting the bullet next time and getting 16" wheels. Ridiculous to spend $200 a piece for old tires.

I don't recall a post about rewiring the QV fog/driving lights to come on w/the high beams.
Should be easy to do tho. Just find the high beam wire from the column switch & connect a diode's anode to it. The connect the diode's cathode to the headlight side of the driving light switch.

I haven't looked at a schematic to see if the driving lights are controlled by a relay. If they're not, then that diode better be rated for about 2x the fuse for the driving lights.

Alternatively, use the headlight power lead to switch a relay that switches power to the driving lights.

Either one will take more time to find the right wires than it will to hook up.

I'll probably know in a week or so once I start installing my new HID driving/fog lights.

Al,

Alas, was not me and can't seem to find the article in the archives. The 308 here has the fogs on with the high beams. The car came this way. Anyone? Anyone?

Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?

Enjoy the Drive,

Steven,
Didn't you post not long ago about rewiring your passing lights to come on with the hi-beams? I thought mine did that but it doesn't and it would be nice to have the extra light.

Passenger side has less space than driver side on the 308 here and it is a Euro, so i presume original parts. Guess i could align it one day.

Well, it could have something to do with the 308 series body panels being fitted to the buck by hand.
I looked at getting a bra years back, but was told that they could not promiss a good fit because of of that very reason.

It's interesting because it makes the RH fog lamp and the cavallino look not lined up too on Paul's car... But, it may be the angle of the shot.

Mine's an original Euro and the spolier doesn't line up either. Its about a 1/4" off on the driver's side and about 1/8" on the passenger's side. Never noticed it before.

You are correct and it is a Knock-off so the fit will never be perfect.

Mine is original, and a much better fit. It does have just about a 1/4" mismatch on the drivers side.

Please excuse the condition -- I didn't clean off the bugs after my drive yesterday!

Paul--thanks for the quick response. On your driver's side--it does looks like yours is not exactly lined up--identical to mine. Is this correct or is this the photo making it look that way? Also, is your spoiler an original or knock-off? Thanks again. As I've said before, your car is outstanding!

I obtained a fiberglass knockoff of an original OEM Euro soiler for my '85 308 and, upon first fitting, found it to be off by about 3/4" on the driver side front, where the tips of the spoiler are supposed to line up with the fender at the corners of the bumper. After looking at some pics of cars equipped with these spoilers, it seems that some are off in the same place--however, it could only be due to camera angle, lighting, etc. Anyway, before I begin to butcher it to fit as I think it should, I want to make sure that this is not the way it's supposed to be.

Re: the knock-off I purchase, I know that it was the first copy taken from an OEM piece.

Anyhow, any up-close, head on pics would be very helpful. Thanks in advance.
