FYI but a bit off topic, I've seen results of 355s dynod with all sorts of exhaust combinations and with/without bypass valves etc. It simply made no noticable difference.

Tim, that's fantastic.
How about a list of those you tested?
Or better, a scan of the dyno chart for each?
That'll be a huge FAQ answer.

its not. dont have the numbers now, can get them tomorrow but I know its not. it takes three men and a boy to lift the stock 360 exhaust and only two men for the tubi.

Just heard today (from a Ferrari of SF salesman) that the Tubi is heavier than the stock exhaust. If true, this would be a definite strike against it. Anyone know for sure how the weights compare?

I have dynoed a 360 in the last few weeks with different exhaust systems. the runs were done one on each day at the same time with the car at the same temp, etc. any exhaust, no hp gain to speak of. at some points there were gains of maybe 2-3hp but at some points there was a loss of 2-3 hp. overall rating of total hp on each one came out 2hp less than stock. most of them lost it on the bottom end. it seems the stock holds a little more back preasure at the lower end making a little more hp. not a technical motorhead but thats what it kinda looked like on the charts.

with my 355 on a rolling road the results were.

With tubi a 5 hp gain but when you remove the cats the torque dropped by 10% so if you want the sound get a tubi but dont ditch the cats!

Tubi's brochure states a 7% hp gain. I find it a bit dubious. I have NOT seen any back to back tests, but based on various club member's cars tested with and without, I would say that the Tubi can add anywhere from 0% to 5% max. If you remove the cat, you may gain a couple more points. I did it purely for the sound...the stock exhaust on my 328 was way to boomy, compared to the stock exhaust on my previous carb 308.

When I say Tubi says no gain, I'm going by what I've been told by two very knowledgable Ferrari specialists, one a Tubi dealer. I have never personally seen a Tubi statement that they make no additional power, altho 10 - 15% sounds unlikely. And yes, I think there would be many buyers for the sound alone.

Thats a surprise. I always thought that a Tubi would add 10-15%. I remember reading it somewhere. Thats why I put it on my 360 and also on my previous TR. If it doesn't offer added horsepower, would someone add it on just for the looks and sound?

Has anyone dynoed any of the aftermarket exhausts like Tubi and Fuchs to determine if there is any hp gain (or loss) from these systems? I know Tubi actually says no gain, which makes me wonder if there is in fact a loss. Some of the other manufacturers I believe claim a gain.
