Only thing I've heard of is the Lenz system that replaces and combines the FI and ignition ECUs. Discussed a bit in attached linked thread (a little bit down from the top) with a link to the Lenz site. http://www.ferrarichat.com/discus/messages/112/328701.html?1066693409 best rt |

The UK 2V and QV Injection cars have more aggressive ignition curves than US/Aus/Swiss cars, so I guess someone could have an upgrade to convert the clean emmission cars to UK spec. But an aftermarket programmable ECU is probably the better option nowadays. The K jetronic is beautiful in it's simplicity, and will deliver fuel to match the air up to a fairly well tuned level of development. Minor tweeks to control pressure are all that's req'd. |

I can't see how it would work well with the simple CIS injection system. |

You must mean the fuel injection module, then, in non-carbed 308s. Surprised they never got it right. If they got it "near," I wonder what kind of performance gains they saw? My guess is, they might not have seen enough performance increase to justify the cost.

It was a LONG number of years ago (probably 8-10) when they were advertized in Prancing Horse or maybe it was Forza. Then the 308 chips disappeared from their ads. I called the company at the time back then and they said they never really were able to get it "right" for the stock computer module.

MAYBE with a conversion to at minimum electronic ignition (as opposed to distributors and points), and possibly a conversion to electronic fuel injection (instead of carbs) where applicable, then maybe. But there's no plug-and-play solution. As electronic as you get is adjusting the ignition timing / advance via, say, an Electromotive HPV setup like Nick Forza's Ferrari (a FerrariChat sponsor) sells. Otherwise... you're looking at cams, jets, exhaust flow, etc. for more power. Would be interested if anybody every saw a 308 "chip" marketed. --Mike (who doesn't need no stinkin chip, just taught a Mustang driver not to race Ferraris anymore)

It may be my imagination, but I believe i saw an ad a few years ago for a power chip for 308's. Does such an animal really exist? If so, has anyone had any experience with one? |
