Hi guys,

The seat are OMP model HA/689 ARS Fiberglass. They are FIA Homologated and also available with carbonfiber chassis i.o. fiberglass (of course more expensive). I did install them not for saving the original leather from wear, but cause the original testa seat do not hold particularly well on the side. With bucket seats is another story. They are fairly confortable but you have to get used to get in and out of the car. The feeling you get from the car is just amazing... Let's put it this way would not change them back. As far as adjustmente is concerned, seats have a series of holes on the side which allow a fairly good regulation of the recline. of course, once bolted in the only regulation possible is back and forth and nothing else.

Here more pics for easy ref.

Jeff, I had the same thought.
I had redone my seats last year and they are starting to get a bit worn from my cell phone and pager.
I would love to install a set of light weight racing seats to keep my nice leather job looking good.
But would hate to buy a set of seats only to find they are too tall when mounted in my GTB.

Paul,
You'll see these seat covers on eBay on occasion. I bought mine from a gent in England with the cover kit. You might be able to buy them from ME soon!
G. The seats actually look good in there! Which OMP's are they? Have you enjoyed them? Do you find it to be uncomfortable since there is no recline adjustment?

FYI, I believe Connelly leather was still being used be Ferrari when the 348 was made so that would be nice "English leather" not Italian ! LOL

LOL!
Frank that's TOO funny! Seriously, I love the ferrari leather seats and will always keep them nice, winning shows or not, I like to druel over the nice italian leather! I just thought the next owner would too. Keep in mind, the seats really aren't much more money than the seat covers!

Good grief, its a 348, and not a concours one at that with the turbo kit, not a 250GTO. Use the seat covers . Don't save the car for the next owner ! It's like wanting to keep your wife a virgin for her next husband in case of a divorce !

Jeff,

They look great! Have you ever sat in Sparco seats? You may want to just so you know what your getting. I'd say you really need something to strap you in when those turbos kick on.

a poll for the group.
I use seat covers (the factory red silk ones), to keep the seats in my 348 TT looking great. For daily driving and wear and tear, they work well. But I wonder if I removed the seats and installed a set of cheap but, in my opinion, cool aftermarket racing seats, I could avoid ALL wear until I showed the car, or sold it. Here's an example:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=33701&item=2438167943
I bet it wouldn't take much longer to install them than it does to cover the originals. I've had mine out before and it's not hard to do.
What do you think about this idea?
Jeff
