1976 GTB For hot starts, ignition on, ~15 seconds for fuel to get to the carbs, then gradual depression of the throttle pedal during cranking until the engine starts. A few seconds. |

78 GTB cold and hot - starts after a few seconds. Very very hot conditions - it needs to be churned while pumping the accelerator. Always starts in the end though.(famous last words) why do you ask? |

Carb or FI? My carb car takes maybe 1-2 seconds. Lights up fairly quick, I think. Better than my 1972 Corvette, or my 1971 Vega. OK, I only throw those in as they're the only other early smog-era carb cars that I've ever had. |

It was starting to require cranking a second or so until a couple of weeks ago I replaced a leaky fuel accumulator that was bleeding CIS pressure off prematurely. Now it's back to where it was when I bought the car 3 years ago. ie: Less than time than it takes for me to twitch the key over to start & then release it('82 Euro 308 GTS QV). Starts about the same hot or cold. Takes maybe a second if it's really hot such as after an hour or so at full highway cruise on a 85 or 90 degree day. Yours should be very similar.

How many turns does it take for your 308 to turn over when hot? |
