yes you can use whatever fuel you desire including 100ron

Going back to my previous posts though, if you remove the cats on a 355 the ecu will not be fuelling it to its optimum anyway so really no need!!

what you will have is lots of noise, less torque, incorrect fuelling, but lower manifold temps!!

Hopefully not a too daft a question - can you use leaded petrol (100+RON) if you have removed the cats ? Can the ECU handle higher RON fuels ? (have been wondering about using an octane booster)

Tony - did you make any other changes, other than the exhaust ? As per the other thread on 355 exhausts there is a bit of concern about fueling - have you come across this in your setup ?

What kind of ball park figure are you looking at to buy and fit pipes and exhaust ? (I don't want to phone them yet in case its way out of my price range)

hi salman,
i have a tubi with straight thru pipes on my car.it was fitted by scuderia systems in egham ....have you checked out their media section? www.scuderiasystems.com
i understand what stephen is saying about resonance with this set-up but it doesn't bother me in the slightest!in fact, quite the opposite. having said that, i only drive the car once a week .we had a ride out a few weeks ago with various f-cars,inc one with the same exhaust and test pipes as mine.....i didn't realise how vocal my car is until i was behind the other one!i havn't heard the capristo setup so can't comment on that, but i would wholeheartdly recommend the tubi. if you're feeling brave and have understanding neighbours, go for the test pipes too.

If the Capristo is going to sound better than the Tubis on the 355 then I'm gonna go for them for sure.

Heiko if its not too much bother please do email me the soundclips for the Tubi on the 355 and the Capristo on a 355 so I can compare them.

Then I'll get in touch and we'll work out on the details to ship it to Kuwait.

Thanks

hi

for sure i will make a video and a soundclip with my car. i can wait till its ready i will post it right away. at the moment i also have a video with 355 stock exhaust and the capristo silenced test pipes on my car. so when anyone like to have it just email me. for the challenge exhaust i would not go with this i dont like the sound and a lot people dont like it too. so when you want to have a good sound you only have a few ways you can go. i know how the fuchs and the tubi is but the capristo will kick in the same way like the one on the 360. well i will sell you what you like but i want the best on my car

Heiko, when you get that capristo on the 355, please do tell how it is. If not too much trouble, a sound/video clip would be pretty awsome.
I saw a clip of it on the 360 and it sounded incredible, in my opinion.

Ah the choices in Life :-) What is a boy to do?

Comeon guys help me:

1) Should I go for the Tubis? The Gold Standard of Exhaust Systems for Ferraris

2) Should I go for the 355 Sports Challenge Exhaust System in Stainless Steel from QV Ferrari?

3) Or Should I go for the Capristo of which I know nothing about except that it seems its the new hot thing and from what I've been hearing better than Tubis???? Is that so?

I'm ordering parts and it'll help that I get the exhaust system shipped with my parts instead of ordering it seperately and paying for shipping again to Q8!!

Thanks Again

SALMAN!

Im ok thanks

Im sure the product from QV in stainless would be good but quite frankly I never liked the challenge sound anyway.

I removed mine and put on a tubi. The one you heard probably had the cats romoved as well and that far too noisy in my opinion.

Thing is with the tubi you still have this resonance at say 2/3 k which can be tiresome if you sticking to the speedlimit!

I think if I had my choice again I would go for a capristo but would want to RIDE in a car that has had this fitted

Oh yes one more thing. Has anyone here tried the Capristo exhaust systems for a 355? How does it compare to the Tubi and 355 Challenge Exhaust systems?

Thanks again Guys

Hi Steph :-)

How have you been? Thats what I've heard from most people that the Tubis have a nice sound to them plus I've heard one 355 with a tubi installed but it was really really loud which makes me think something wasn't right with that particular 355.

However QV Ferrari of London has 355 Challenge Exhaust Systems in stock made from Stainless Steel instead of the mild steel you mentioned that the OEM supplies. Do you think these Stainless Steel ones from QV will be better?

Thank You and Regards

well first of all with ANY after market system on these cars you will get NO or maybe 2/3 bhp increase (as on my car- but even then you will LOSE torque)

The one thing you do get is a nice sound from a tubi (if you can drive round the resonance period at about 2/3K)

The Challenge exhaust in UK is made from mild stell not stainless and does not sound anywhere near as good as many of the aftermarket jobs IMO

Hi Guys,

I am thinking of getting an aftermarket exhaust system for my car and ofcourse have been doing some research. Ofcourse nearly every Ferrari owner recommends Tubi and there are other brands out there are ANSA etc.

However what I have not been able to understand is what is the difference between a Ferrai Challenge Exhaut system and the Tubi exhaust systems?

Some of the benefits listed for installing a Tubi was lower engine temperature, gorgeous sound and 7 to 8 extra horsepower plus the enhanced look.

Will I get the same benefits if I install a Ferrari Challenge Exhaust system? Which one would you recommend or is there no real difference between them?

I would also like to know if any one here has heard both of them and can tell me how they sound.

Thanks and Looking forward to your Posts
