I'm confused; you have lug nuts?? Meaning you have lugs in the rotor hubs, and nuts that hold the wheels on??? |

It's not really the wheels that are different mounting-wise (i.e., 7x16, 8x16, and 14" 308 wheels are all the same in the bolt/mounting area), it's the rotors and hubs that are different front vs. rear (e.g., you can put a 7x16 wheel on the 308 rear as long as you use the shorter lugbolts). So I believe the answers to your questions are: "yes", "yes", and "no" (i.e., the lugbolts are different front vs rear for the rotors/hubs, and regardless of the wheel size, the longer ones go with the front rotor/hub and the shorter ones go with the rear rotor/hub). |

Bolts are supposed to be longer on the front than on the back. All looks normal here...just remember to tighten those wheels. |

I have a 79 cared 308, with the QV 16" wheels. I almost lost a wheel yesterday because NTB didn't retorque my wheel properly after changing tires a week ago. Scary when you think that I was going 80 mph before discovering the problem! However, I discovered that the nuts are different front and back: the front nut are 1/2 inch or so longer than the back ones on my car. I tried to fit the front ones on the back but they were too long... My questions are: Is it normal? Are the nuts on 14" original wheels the same as the ones on 16"? Are the nuts different on front and rear wheels (7" vs. 8"?)? |
