I have checked from trunk and it is not related to central controls, have checked Roberts comments and he is right it is a small motor/fan to draw air over the sensor I have fiddled with it and constant noise stopped it could be related to battery power as I have not been using as much now weather in UK drawing in. I intend to remove the panel that houses the sensor to find out more, in fact if you press the sensor hard the whine/buzzing occurs imagine the fan is rubbing on something. I will keep you informed | ||

David, I too would be interested to know which motor you find. Whenever my battery seems to be getting weak, I get a high pitched screech from some type of motor situated behind the instruments. The noise goes away as soon as I replace the battery. | ||

According to the users manual, the 348 has a "passenger room temperature sensor" located in the bottom dash panel left of the steering wheel. If it's like the Mondail's, the motor snaps into a bracket on the back of the dash panel. To get it out, loosen the panel and reach up and gently pull it out. | ||

LHS of the steering... does the 348 have an interior air temp sensor like the Mondial's? If it does, then this could be the motor that runs the little fan that draws air across the sensor? | ||

I wonder if you are referring to the electric servo (8) that operates the hot water control valve for the climate control system, or possibly the electric water pump for the heater system (6)? These would be accessed as Ernie describes. I don't think there is a motor behind the left side of the dash, but I'm always learning!  | ||

David, are you refering to the heater/air conditioner fan motor? If you are, you can access it through the trunk. You have to take out the trunk liner to get to it. It's no big deal to remove the liner, all you need is to remove some screws, and the rubber seal around the lip. | ||

I have a 1992 LHD 348ts there is some form of motor behind the dash to LHS of steering the panel that has the termostat for heating in it is rubbing wearing any clues as to what the motor is and how I can access for inspection /repair |
