Barry, I hope you didn't let that guy work on your car?

Coincidentally, I brought my car in for AC servicing and I asked the Ferrari technician "What kind of marker is that?"

"Red" was his reply.

As Peter says it could be a calibration marker. If it is they should try another method since most Ferrari speedos. seem to be somewhat fast.

I also noticed the red line at 30 MPH and thought it was an indication for city speed limit. My speedometer also reads 10 MPH with the ignition off. In addition, the tachometer reads 500 RPM with the ignition off. This appears to be the case with all 308s

Magoo: That dirty rotten scoundrel! My plates are 4RE GT4. But to be honest, I just got my plates.

Rob: Have you been exceeding your redline too? Also, I notice that your speedo needle seems to not go below 10MPH, like mine. Must be a common defect/feature.

I think it means the speed limit while driving in town. 50 KMH is usually the city speed limit in most European countries

Maybe most fuel efficient speed in 5th gear. Just a guess.

Hey Hans, Last week in Stuart Fl. I saw a car exactly like yours, black belt and also with the tag 4RE GT4. What is your tag?

Hmmmm.... Possible, I guess, although tach redline in 1st is around 40MPH.

Could it possibly be some sort of MINIMUM speed?

Anyone else have this on their speedo?

My '75 GT4 has a heavy red line at just above 30MPH. (Probably meant to be 50KPH.) If this is the maximum recommended car speed, I think I may have voided the warranty.

Any idea what this is? It's not in the manual.
