Atlanta's 6th Annual Italian Car Day!

Share the passion!

Date: Saturday, Oct. 5th, 2002, 10 AM to 3 PM.

Place: Buford Dam Park,

Just 1 mile east of the Buford Dam power generating station off Buford Dam Road. The event site is in north Atlanta on the southern edge of Lake Lanier. On the map it is between the small towns of Cumming and Buford, close to Georgia Highway #20. From GA Highway 20 turn north on to Suwanee Dam Road at the Publix Shopping Center. Take Suwanee Dam Road 3 miles to stop sign. Turn left on to Buford Dam Road, Buford Dam Park is 1 mile on the right just east of the dam.

This is a new venue for Italian Car Day, near West Bank Park (1996 to 2000 site), but on the opposite (east) side of the Dam near the Corps Office entrance. The show officially starts at 10 AM. We would ask you to have all cars & bikes parked & settled in no later than 11 AM so everyone can enjoy the show. First come, first served at registration and on the field.

Please note: NO ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES are permitted in the park. NO PETS (however, prancing horses and raging bulls are welcome!).

Registration fee $15/car (includes one free lunch). All registration is at the door like last year:

EACH REGISTRATION INCLUDES:

DASH INFO DISPLAY CARD (numbered for voting)

ONE TICKET FOR HOT LUNCH / DESSERT / DRINK

ONE OFFICIAL VOTING BALLET

ONE RAFFLE TICKET for door prizes donated by vendors.

SPONSOR GOODIE BAG

The registered vehicle is eligible for an "Owner's Choice" Trophy for their registered marque class and also the coveted "Best of Show" award.

Italian Motorcycles have their own class(s) this year.

Only registered car owners have voting privileges. Each registered owner may vote for one vehicle in every class. (For Example: A registered Maserati owner will vote for one Maserati; but also all other marques; one Alfa, one Ferrari, one Lamborghini, one DeTomaso, one Lancia, one motorcycle, etc...)

Best of Show, also selected by peers, is the top honor again this year.

Very nice 4 color acrylic/wood trophies were awarded last year and a three foot tall Best of Show trophy!

Extra lunches are available for small nominal fee for others in your party. Extra lunch tickets can be purchased at the door.

Last year vendors donated well over $2000 in door prizes. Extra raffle tickets will be sold at the event for $1 each. All visitors may buy raffle tickets. New sponsors are welcome.

We expect to exceed all records in 2002, and therefore have secured the largest park on Lake Lanier available from the Corps of Engineers.

Last year was a wonderful show with over 125 registrations!

Anyone who wishes to help out is very much appreciated.

P.S. There may be a revival of the Great North Georgia Exotic Car Drive the following day, so plan for a great weekend! The last real drive we may get before our beasties are retired for the season!
