Mitchel - there are a number of other Active sports car clubs in the area. For one, the various Corvette clubs seem to be doing something almost every weekend.

Let us talk about it this weekend. I hope we can all make it to Frank's cruise-in in Cumming. I want all of these events to be FCA sponsored (except for the mountain drives - Liability). Mitch - I propose that folks can come if they are not members. If folks come, then they will want to join and want the FCA mailers to keep them posted. We want to include people, not exclude. I just found out that FOA contributed a HUGE amount of money to the Savanaha meet. Regardless, I agree with Mitch, it's too expensive for most of the members to attend these things. I think a monthly meeting on the first Saturday of the month is what we need. Say 10AM to 1PM. Then if folks want to go eat, they do so on their own. I think the only prepaid events should be at the track, Andretti's, concourse, etc. The rest should be free.

I'm with you John! Track events and tech sessions sound great, we certainly need a regular Ferrari thing here, and not something that costs a ton like all the FCA events.

I think we need to sponser, promote and organize more events for Ferrari owners and exotic owners alike. I can tell you that the only really active sports car clubs are the Viper and Porsche clubs.

Track events at Road Atlanta, Roebling, Talladega and so forth is a great idea, as well as static events such as car shows and cruise ins. I was also thinking of getting Ferraris together and going to the drive in movie! My mountain drives are still popular, and we are doing one the day after ICD. Here is my problem, if it becomes an FCA event, it will end up costing about $2k with all the un-nessesary dinners and crap. The only FCA event I like to attend are the annual meets, that is it. I think we could do great things as a separate entity that does not involve FCA.

John, I think we need to get some people together for dinner and brainstorm, and I promise that we will come up with some wonderful things to do. I have ideas coming out my ears!

I would love to have something on a regular basis. Count me in, and if I can help let me know.

The Sat tech days would be great! as for Rd Atl, it would work if maybe included concours, track touring(for nonspeed demons), and fee for just social events.

Vince, glad to see you decided to give FC another go. By the way, I would really appreciate if you would come and bring your 575 to the Car Show next Saturday. There will be a lot of other great cars there and yours will be a wonderful bonus.

I think a Road Atlanta event would be great. Check with Jim Kaney about a special deal at Road Atlanta. He used to own the place before he sold it to Panoz. I'm sure he could pull a string or two. A social event would be fun too. As a matter of fact, I would recommend that we set up an overnight getaway at Chateau Elan' for New years Eve. They have a great package that includes dinner, room, party with band and ball drop at midnight, champagne...the works... and brunch in the morning for around $250.00 per couple. My wife and I went last year and had a blast! We could all drive our cars as they will be safe there and have the day, evening and morning to socialize and party. What say you guys ?

Thanks for the support Vince. Mitch, Frank, Mike, Heath - What do you guys think (other than the fact that I can't spell "Atlanta" today)?

The old 'Southeast Saturday' meetings were a lot of fun. It's good to see you trying to make them return.

I need everyones thoughts on new Altanta area FCA/Ferrari events. I'd like to get this club back to the way it was prior to the '99 meet. First - how much interest is there in a Road Atlanta meet? It is really expensive to rent now and FOA will not sponsor any of the cost (liability). If we did, what is the best month to do it in? Does anyone have an "in" with Road Altanta?

Second, I would like to go back to having a monthly Tech Day meet at places like, FOA, Old World MC/Deutschland, Bo Pirkle's, T-Rutlands, Race Car Store & Andretti Speed Lab. With the remaining 6 months spent at Taladega GP, Road Atlanta, Savannah, Italian Car Day, Party at Marc & Beth's house and a Ferrari-only Concourse Day.

We need to get approval from Bart Durham SE Region Chair to do these things. But first, I need to know how much interest is there. Is the first Saturday of each month OK with everyone? Please respond if you are in Georgia.

Also, we need a web master for a GA Section new site. Anyone intereted in this or know how I could do it without paying a fee? I get a free site from www.directvinternet.com but am not sure about the domain name part since I am not web literate.
