FRS's are the only way to go on these country drives. We use them on channel 3-08 (main channel 3, subchannel 08) so no interference from casual FRS users. It not only helps when someone is caught at a light, it's also great for the lead driver to be able to tell others when it's safe to pass at times there is otherwise not the best visibility around curves, etc.

We don't use them in VOX mode (the Ferraris are too loud), but many of us do use earpieces (like a cellphone style) so we hear everything right away, but still just push the button when we want to talk. Works VERY well that way whether it's just two cars or a large group. In fact, we bought several for group use out of surplus generated from one of our track events.

Jeff,

That is a good idea about communication. I would like to know that route so I could drive it again. Does anyone remember the roads and turns?I will post pictures this afternoon

We need to get communicators (FRS) or make sure we all have cell phones AND each others numbers!

I turned around to try to pick up Brian W when he got caught by a traffic light. Didn't see him the turned around to follow, that's when I saw Brian (Red TR) and Clark head back to pick us up. I turned around one more time still didn't see Brian W, then drove (almost beyound my abilities - but not quite) to try to catch up with Brian (red Tr and Clark) but to now avail.

I figured Brian W would catch up eventually. Drove all the way to Cleveland (about 9 miles from Helen) then decided to head back. Almost got lost as I am totally unfamiliar with the roads. But I caught a Hwy 115 sign and a G 400 sign and used the daylight to my best advantage.

Sure damned fine roads up there! I tink we all touched 140 + in some stretches.

Lesson learned.....communication devices AND a destination!

Great fun today! What happened to Jeff & Brian W. in Dahlonega? Where did Clark go from 400? We took 52 over to 115/400. Clark has some cool pics.

My home address if you want to enter it in Mapquest, I am about a mile away from Giovanni's
6040 Laurel Oak drive
Suwanee, Ga 30024

From Mall of Ga come West on Ga. 20. Turn left on to James Burgess road. It will dead end into Old Atlanta rd, turn left. Follow this down until you come to a light and turn right onto Laurel Springs Parkway( Aberdeen Subdivision). Follow this and it will dead end into 141/Peachtree Parkway, go left and it is on the right about 1 mile. Total of about 18 miles from the Mall

Clark,

I live in Suwanee but can drive most anywhere--(Why have a T/R if you don't drive it?)
So 12:00 noon tomorrow at Giovannis. I will be there. Only question--Where the heck is Giovanni's? (Lead me from I85/Mall of Georgia Area.)

I may be enticed to a drive myself. I'm right down the road too, and so if Frank's new Boxer. If someone gives me a meeting time, I will be there. Giovanni's seems to be the place to start.

I livein Laurel Springs so I am a rocks throw from you Jeff. The only thing I have on my schedule is an appointment at 11:00 that I can reschedule. Any ideas on where to go?

Brian,
Where are you located? I would love to see your Testarossa.

I am flexible for what to do.

I'll charge my battery and try to get to bed early tonight I live only 45 seconds away so I can still get my z's. Just up 141 in the Bridle Ridge subdivisionpast Laurel Springs Road and across from "Pop's" (was Platinum) packaged goods. About where will Mickey's hands be when you want to aggregate?

I am planning on getting the car out tomorrow mid-morning. I checked the forecast and it is mostly sunny with a high of 48, no rain. Is anyone interested in a drive. We can meet at my house or the Caribou Coffee next to Giovanni's at Johns Creek?
