Wayne you're right, I thought it was the same one Bonhams was offering for private sale. The one Bonhams wants 2.75 for is a very nice no stories car 6217 |

Sorry Wayne I meant to post the link to this 250LM instead of the GTC http://www.modena-motorsport.de/verkauf/typen/250lm_rot/250lm_rot.htm |

I saw this ugly SVR sold for 113k. Do you know what kind of cost would be involved in bringing a race car to the US? This SVR can be had for close to 80k |

1. Stunning example. I've always been a huge fan of the GTCs. Though green would not be my first choice, that shade looks a million times better than this one, IMO: http://www.vintageferrariparts.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=dsp&page=car&recid=11 2. I think that there is money to be made by purchasing a nice Lusso here in the states and flipping it at the right venue in Europe. |

Have you seen this car? http://www.modena-motorsport.de/verkauf/typen/330gtc_gruen/330gtc_gruen.htm If you were to buy a car strictly for resale at an auction what would you go with?? |

Tyson, 1. Scotch whiskey (lately it's been Laphroaig) 2. Last I heard, the car (5995GT) was with Andre Binda in France. |

Vincent, The first was a 250 PF Coupe that was owned by someone I met once in San Diego. Already knowing the car might have helped. The next was a 250 Europa. It was Monterey weekend and some guy's from Belgium were there looking at cars. I stayed very close to them, and may have been mistaken as part of their party. They wound up buying a couple of cars while I was there. When I drove the Europa I was shaking so hard I thought I might vomit! |

Bill, I've never been there. What did they give you the keys to? A few years ago I tried to ask for a drive in a ferrari (a few times) and I was given a brisk but fairly courteous shrug off. It was a car I could have bought but after the treatment I received I didn't want to deal. Good thing too, found a house the next month. Vincent. |

Vincent, Do you ever run by Fantasy Junction in Emmeryville to drool on cars? That's where I drove my first Ferrari. After years of coming in and acting like I knew what I was doing they finally gave me some key's. I think they just wanted to see what would happen. I didn't disappoint them! |

Bill, Well said. I don't spend too much time (read no time) really worrying about this. There are other things around that demand much more attention and thought. You're right about how easy it is to imply a certain tone on a someone else post. This is why it is always best to keep email communication to the bare minimum, too easy to read whatever you want in any message, more so as they get longer. Kinda like this post. I wonder what percentage of people on chat rooms are just living in fantasyland, and how many are real. The North Area Rules!!!!! |

The problem is these guy's that love to stir things up. I have noticed that is is very easy to get the wrong take on someones comments on the internet. I've even seen people get into it over a difference of opinion. Therefore it is going to become an "Unwritten Rule" here in the North area, that all comments are in jest, and should be addressed as such! Also remember that if someone makes a comment that seems threatening, it should automatically be considered in good humor, and responded to in that fashion. |

I like f-chat, but I could do without the once in a while a-holes that pop up for a couple of weeks and then disappear. |

I've only been here for a short time, and i can't believe the amount on inane posts out there. More, importantly the amount of posts where the original poster just doesn't follow up. Confession, this is my first foray into the internet community, though post f-chat registration I have visited a few other car forums and this is still the best IMO. I have yet to register on any others, don't know how I would have the time to keep up. But man there are some loonies out there! IMO, some people need hobbies or just need to find something they are good at other than just trying to piss people off behind their veil. How do some of these guys have so much time on their hands. Does it relate directly to summer school break or what?
