:-)

[DETAILS FOR ALL EVENTS FOLLOW THIS LETTER]

Greetings from your board in the middle of this hot and muggy summer!

WOW, we have a busy few months ahead of us! First off, THIS UPCOMING WEEKEND is the Second annual FCA/New England Region summer weekend ramble on the coast of Maine. Based at the Spruce Point Inn, with scenic coastal drives, great meals, shopping, and tall tales. A couple of spaces may still be available; please contact Glenn Farrell, Maine Chapter President, 207-363-8053 or [email protected]. http://www.fca-newengland.org/2003-ME-wknd.html

Our next weekend event is the 8th annual Vermont Ferrari Festival, headquartered at the Basin Harbor Club in Vergennes, VT. YOU MUST MAKE YOUR ROOM RESERVATIONS BY AUGUST 31!!! See the letter from Todd Lockwood, our VT Chap. President, right at the bottom of this email for all the details on this weekend getaway.

And to finish off our year, we'll be spending a weekend in Connecticut in November doing the complete James Bond thing - fast cars, baccarat, gourmet meals, cigars and fine scotch. We are combining this weekend event with our Annual Meeting dinner too, so there is another excuse to come play!

Have you been driving your car enough? If not, please join us for three weekends in a row in September, starting with a tour of the grounds of the Bill Jennings collection - oh, that sounds too formal; come up to Lake Winnipesaukee for a scenic drive, good grub, and a chance to clamber around all-around-nice-guy Bill's nifty cars and other toys. The following weekend WILL be just a touch more formal; it's the Ferrari Cup at Myopia Polo in Hamilton, MA, sponsored by Ferrari & Maserati of New England. "The Polo Clubs lush fields and tall evergreens are evidence of the long tradition of the sport. The first match was played here in 1888 on the oldest existing polo field in the United States. This is the 115th season of Myopia Polo, 1888-2003, and will offer spectators some of the finest competitive polo in the country." For a vicarious celebration of the last September visit to the hallowed grounds of Indianapolis by the spectacle that is Formula One, we'll be taking a fast drive through Central Mass and ending at Ferrari and Maserati of New England for brunch, a tech session and the viewing of the United States Grand Prix.

And if you can't wait until September, ALTHOUGH THIS IS *NOT* an official FCA event, this coming Sunday is the Dream Ride in Farmington, CT, organized by IGA Hometown Dreams, which was a major sponsor of our Hartford Concorso Ferrari. This is a great opportunity to take a police-escorted charity ride through the beautiful NW Connecticut countryside to raise money for Special Olympics Connecticut.

For those of you who haven't been to Lime Rock this season, sad to say, you REALLY missed out. Many members had a grand old time at the Ferrari Challenge Reunion weekend, whether it was just spectating at the 360 and Historic Challenge races or driving on the track during the sport and touring sessions. And just a few weeks later was the annual August Lime Rock track event, ably organized as always by our comrades in the Empire State Region. So don't miss out on the next track event, the Watkins Glen International Labor Day weekend funfest! See your Ferrari News Bulletin or contact Bob Coates, registrar, for more details. If you're coming out to just observe and hang out, you need to have your name on the list for gate entry or else you will NOT be able to get in!

That's it for now. Hope to see you at an event soon!

vty,

--Dennis

Sunday, August 17, 2003 - DREAM RIDE to benefit Special Olympics Connecticut, starting at the Farmington Club, 162 Town Farm Road, Farmington, CT 06032
http://www.hometowndreams.org/i_dreamride.htm

ALTHOUGH THIS IS *NOT* an official FCA event, it promises to be huge and hugely exciting. Dream Ride is one of the major events conducted by IGA Hometown Dreams, which was a major sponsor of our Hartford Concorso Ferrari. This is a great opportunity to take a police-escorted charity ride through the beautiful NW Connecticut countryside to raise money for a fantastic charity.

"Dream Ride is more than a charity ride for cars and motorcycles. Its a gathering of people interested in comradery, helping out good causes and having a great time! This years ride benefits Special Olympics Connecticut. Adam J. Bozzuto, founder of Bozzutos Inc., had a dream to build a facility in Connecticut where underprivileged and special children could thrive and experience joy from the opportunities that the facility could provide. Through your participation in Dream Ride well be that much closer to making dreams come true."

9:00am Registration w/ Continental Breakfast; 11:00am Departure Time; 1:00pm Return Time; 1:00-5:00pm Party, Prizes, & Live Band! Lunch: Steak, Chicken, Ice Cream & More!

VERMONT FERRARI FESTIVAL -- OCTOBER 3-5

Its time once again for the Vermont Ferrari Festival at Basin Harbor Club. This is the eighth year of our fall Ferrari gathering. For those new to this event, its a low key, fun weekend of driving, eating and enjoying the fall color. Guests from outside the area will stay in lakeside cabins at Basin Harbor Club -- a classic summer resort on beautiful Lake Champlain.

Participants will arrive at the Basin Harbor Club on Friday afternoon, October 3rd. Casual dining is available Friday evening at The Red Mill Cafe on the Basin Harbor property.

Saturday morning we will assemble for a drive to a luncheon about ninety minutes away in Stowe. This drive will include some of the areas most Ferrari-friendly roads -- including the famous Route 17. Well be back in time for more afternoon activities at Basin Harbor. A Ferrari Club banquet is planned for Saturday evening.

Sunday morning well drive to a classic French cafe for brunch, then well head back home. Again, some great roads are sampled on this drive also, so dont miss Sunday!
